My prayers to Jim´s family. I knew Jim because his younger brother Joe and I were best friends in our early years. I spent many pleasant days and nights with the Murray and Kilmartins. You tried to keep me out of Nam Jim. But I went anyway.

I'm sorry I haven't sent a condolence till now. James was such a great guy my dad William F. Barrett who passed away talked to Jim every night they had great talks about the war and the old times for hours. And he was there for his Brother Joe when Jimmy was in the hospital if someone could reach out to his brother that would be great. I found an old message on the answering machine of Joe wishing my dad a Happy father's day,.

Jimmy and Susan - I loved your dad. He was such a good friend for so many years - we worked together and after he retired we kept in touch texting when ND was playing - keeping up with family matters. We got together when the Oldermans were in town. Jim was a gentleman and one of the finest people I've ever had the honor to know. I will miss him so much. Jimmy - I'm the person who wrote to Ted Williams and got you a picture signed by him. Your dad was so pleased and knew you would be too. I am so sad.

Never met Jim in person, but we were members of the same Notre Dame site for years so we got to know each other thru the site and exchanging hundreds of emails thru the years. Jim was a genuinely kind and humble man. He was like the big brother I never had. He's in heaven now.

Thank you for making everyone aware of Jim´s death.
We were fellow members of ND Class of 1964 and I felt like we were good friends. Saw him once since graduation, at our 50 year reunion. He hadn´t changed.
One of my memories is that Jim spent the first three years at ND complaining because his dad didn´t let him go to BC. He finally realized in his senior year that he was in a great place.
A fun guy to be around. I´ll remember him fondly.

Sad to read the news today on the passing of Jim Murray from a prominent Lowell family. Moving to Fort Lauderdale years ago was something many of us dreamed of....especially when a Nor Easter hits mid January. He certainly had an exciting and eventful career surrounded by an awesome family. We will have a New Years toast In Jim's memory at Mount Pleasant G.C. Next week.....May he REST IN PEACE. From all the Scannell Family in Greater Lowell. Nanny and Pappy Scannell were Jim's Parents good friends......Go Irish!

Our deepest sympathy to all of the Murray family on the passing
of your father, grandfather and brother.
He was our friend of more than 50 years. Jack will miss his emails and insight. We will both miss him as we also miss Louise.
